Frederick Women’s Distance Festival

The Frederick Women’s Distance Festival is presented by the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club. This 5K race for female runners and walkers promotes health and fitness among women of all ages and abilities. The front of the pack is pretty competitive, but there are plenty of beginners and walkers. Proceeds benefit the Women's Giving Circle of Frederick County, funding grants to local nonprofits assisting women and their dependents in our community. The main event is a 5K Run/Walk where women runners and walkers of all ages and abilities enjoy the well-supported course on the campus of Frederick Community College and in the adjacent neighborhood. This women-only event is timed with overall and age group awards, but don't worry if you're not out there to burn up the course. All paces are welcome and we celebrate every finisher. The Little Women 1K Fun Run is a short, non-competitive event for younger runners. Parents are welcome to accompany the little girls (no registration required
