Race Up the Northeast's Highest Peak One of the most unique footraces in the world. Race the infamous Cog Railway to the top of Mount Washington. NOTE: when registering, the buttons labeled "Roundtripper" with their respective waves will be the Devil's Shingle Roundtripper that will take runners to the summit AND all the way back down the mountain on foot. The buttons that only list the three waves are for the summit push to the top of Mt Washington where you will take the Cog back down the mountain. The CourseRace the Cog Summit Climb: The race course is about 2.75 miles long and follows the tracks the entire way. The total climbing is 3,500 feet with more than 1,000 feet of climbing per mile. The course starts at the Marshfield Base station of the Cog Railway in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. Runners will take the path alongside the tracks to the summit of Mount Washington. The course begins on dirt/gravel and gradually becomes steeper and rockier as you approach Jacobs Ladder. From J
